SoCalledSocial — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information SoCalledSocial ("SCS", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. SoCalledSocial is a sole proprietorship of Syed Nawaz, Tamil Nadu, India. Contact: nawaz@socalledsocial.com.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Public information about creators

Before we contact a creator, we collect publicly available information about their channel: channel name, URL, profile picture, subscriber and video counts, country, video titles, descriptions and public statistics (views, likes, comments), and publicly listed business contact details and social media handles. We obtain YouTube information through the YouTube Data API.

1.2 Information you give us

Account information: name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form).
Profile and business information: rate card, portfolio, past brand partnerships, payout details, and for brands, company and billing details and onboarding answers.
Communications: emails and messages you exchange with us.

1.3 Information from your YouTube account (creators)

When you choose to connect your YouTube account, Google shares with us, with your permission and read-only:

your channel information (youtube.readonly), and
your YouTube Analytics reports (yt-analytics.readonly), such as views, watch time, and aggregated audience breakdowns by age group, gender and country.

We cannot post, edit or delete anything on your channel. We do not access your earnings or monetary data.

1.4 Deal and campaign information

Deal agreements, briefs, submitted content URLs and timestamps, campaign performance, and payment records.

1.5 Technical information

A session cookie to keep you signed in, and basic server logs (such as IP address and request times) used for security.

2. How we use information

To identify and contact creators and brands who may be a good fit.
To run your account and workspace.
To match creators with brands, and to agree, manage, review, track and report on campaigns.
To show creator profiles and statistics to registered brands, and anonymised summaries in outreach to prospective brands.
To pay creators and invoice brands.
To keep the platform secure and comply with the law.

We may use AI service providers to help summarise public channel content and draft communications. Every outbound message and decision is reviewed and approved by a person.

3. Google API Services and YouTube

SoCalledSocial uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube account, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and your information is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
SoCalledSocial's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.
We use data from Google APIs only to provide the features you see on SoCalledSocial. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
YouTube data we store is refreshed or deleted within 30 days.
You can disconnect at any time from your SoCalledSocial settings, or by revoking access at Google's security settings page: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect, we delete the data we received through your connection within 7 days.

4. Who we share information with

Brands: registered brands that have accepted our Terms can see creator profiles, including channel statistics and audience data. Prospective brands receive only anonymised summaries.
Creators: receive deal orders from SoCalledSocial containing the information needed to carry out a campaign. Creators do not see brands' internal information.
Service providers that help us run SoCalledSocial, such as hosting and databases (Vercel, Google Cloud), email (Google Workspace), payment and payout providers, and AI service providers. They may only use information to provide services to us.
Legal reasons: where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.

We do not sell personal information.

5. How long we keep information

YouTube data: refreshed or deleted within 30 days; data from a disconnected YouTube account is deleted within 7 days.
Creators we contacted who declined: we keep only a minimal record (channel name, channel URL, business email, status and dates) so that we do not contact you again. You can ask us to delete it.
Deal, agreement and payment records: kept for as long as needed for legal, tax and dispute purposes.
Accounts: until you delete your account, subject to the above.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you, by emailing nawaz@socalledsocial.com. Every outreach email includes an opt-out, and we honour it permanently. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

7. Security

We use encryption, hashed passwords, access controls and limited, read-only permissions to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.

8. International processing

SoCalledSocial is based in India and uses service providers in other countries, including the United States. Your information may be processed outside your country, with appropriate safeguards.

9. Children

SoCalledSocial is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Each version is dated. We will notify you of significant changes.
